The only way to meet people is by stretching your comfort zone. You’ll never know who you might meet at an event - networking or otherwise. Start spending eighty percent of your time with individuals you haven’t met and twenty percent with those you know.
One day I received a call from a client who was also a sales professional. He told me how he went to an event and, as usual, networked meeting new people. He turned to the person next to him and introduced himself. After a brief conversation, he realized that he just met a long lost half-sister.
While you and I might not have an experience like that, think of all the opportunities and experiences lost by hanging out with people we know.
Stretch your comfort zone and go out and meet new people. Enjoy hearing and learning about other peoples’ great experiences.
