What do all talk show hosts have in common?

Each is very successful at interviewing people.  The funny thing is, they don’t interview, they converse.  They put people at ease and open them up to share almost anything.

They especially exhibit their talent is when they follow-up; that is, question-based on an interviewees response.

Each does it in his or her style. Watch interviews and observe the different styles.

Identify your style and learn to weave it into your questions. It creates an environment that puts people at ease and willing to have a revealing conversation.

“Most of the successful people I've known are the ones who do more listening than talking.”
-Bernard Baruch
